Introduction to a new Kubota Skid Steer (CTL) – SVL97-3

The latest addition to Kubota Tractor Corporation is a new Kubota Compact Track Loader, SVL97-3 designed as the third generation of the popular Skid Steer, replacing the SVL97-2.
Presented relatively not long before being released for sale, on the 21st of January in Las Vegas, Kubota showed many improvements over the previous model.

Starting with comfort amenities, Kubota equipped the SVL97-3 with an LCD touchscreen and a rear view camera giving the operator an even better view of their surroundings. The new one-piece cabin reduces noise and prevents dust and water from entering. The mounting design contributes to improved ride comfort for the operator.

Kubota SVL97-3 DPF and DEF problems

In keeping with the idea of “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it,” the Kubota SVL97-3 has the same engine as previous models. The 96-horsepower Kubota V3800 engine with DPF and DEF exhaust aftertreatment system and two-speed functionality provides power when needed and speed when necessary.

As reliable as this engine is, it is unfortunate that the exhaust aftertreatment system from previous versions has been carried over one-to-one, along with all its flaws. A disadvantage for one, however, may turn out to be an advantage for someone else, and that someone will be all SVL97-3 owners when DPF and DEF system problems begin to arise. We offer a reliable and thoroughly tested solution to all the problems the DPF and SCR/DEF systems present. To see our Kubota DPF and DEF Delete Kit click here. Something as simple and foolproof as plug and play installation will allow anyone with SVL97-3 forget about emission issues and enjoy their machines not worrying about regen, filter cleaning and refilling exhaust fluid.

SVL97-3 comparison with the previous SVL97-2

The Kubota SVL97-2 and SVL97-3 are both powered by the same engine, but what’s worh noticing is improved engine cooling and better hydraulic flow, leading to enhanced performance in demanding tasks. The new Kubota Compact Track Loader has increased auxiliary hydraulic flow, allowing for better performance when using attachments like mulchers or hydraulic hammers. As for the engine the auto-downshift function in the SVL97-3 improves traction and efficiency when operating under heavy loads. Along with the performance changes Kubota offers a new platform for the operators upgraded telematics system allows for remote monitoring of engine performance and maintenance schedules, a feature not available in the SVL97-2. With this platform real-time performance tracking allows the operator to monitor such information as live engine data, DPF system status, hydraulic system information and the most important of all error codes diagnostics to help troubleshoot potential issues quickly.

integrated KubotaNOW™ Telematics System

One of the more common problems for owners of Kubota machines without a display was the difficulty in reading error codes. Now the KubotaNOW™ Telematics System is available on the market. By installing an additional module using a harness, owners of agricultural and construction machines can access all information about their machines in real time. With the launch of new generations of machines, Kubota has implemented this system in the latest Compact Track Loader SVL97-3.

After downloading the app to your phone, you can add your machine to a list where you can monitor in real time its: location, fuel level, DPF soot fill status and, most importantly, fault codes to allow diagnostics.

For anyone who owns more or even just one Kubota machine, this system will give the opportunity to control service appointments much easier by automatic notification. Monitoring fluid levels is crucial to maintain your machines in top condition. Especially when it’s about one of the most perishable systems, the DEF and the DPF. Because taking care of your machine is not only about fixing it when it’s broken. It is also maintenance and frequent service.

The SVL97-3 with already integrated KubotaNOW™ telematics system is a significant advantage. Being able to control in what state is your machine and easily schedule any maintenance job surely will be appreciated by anyone who’s using Kubota equipment every day.
